Madonna is the popular American pop singer-songwriter, perfect dancer, record, film producer, beautiful actress and accepted fashion icon. Her real name is Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie (born in Aug 16, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan).

Madonna came to the stage in 1982 and deserved people at large since then. More than 200 million of her albums were sold in the entire world, she is known and loved by people of any age, and her music is recognizable among any other.

Everyone has once heard her representative songs: "Like a Prayer", "Holiday", "Vogue", etc.

Madonna’s first single was produced by Mark Kamins, a New York-based DJ/producer. It was a song “Everybody”, which became a super hit at the end of 1982. The second single, 1983's "Physical Attraction", became a dance hit too. Madonna’s debut album, which got a symbolic name “Madonna”, released in September, 1983, and its great hit "Holiday" became the first Top 40 hit very soon. The new pop-singer was unusual for the stage of ‘80s: the way she dressed, sang and danced, her original style made her popular among young girls and women.

Her second album “Like a Virgin” became an album number one in many U.S. album charts. Again and again singles from this album ("Material Girl", "We Are The World", "Angel", "Dress You Up" and other) became top hits of different hit parades.

Since then Madonna is world known. Her movie debut was in 1985 with brief role in the film “Vision Quest”. Madonna’s soundtrack for this film - a ballad "Crazy for You" - was awarded by Grammy. Public saw Madonna’s actress skill in 23 movies and took a fancy to her heroes.

In 1986 Madonna released the album “True Blue”; then there were “Who's That Girl” (1987); “Like a Prayer”, released in 1989; in 1990 she released “I'm Breathless”; in 1994 she released her 6th studio album “Bedtime Stories”, which was created with Nellee Hooper and Dallas Austin. In 1992 Madonna decided to try herself as the book author, having written a book “SEX”. It was a successful experience and after that she published a number of her books both for grown-ups and for children.

Her concerts are bright shows; the music videos for Madonna’s albums are interesting combination of the cinema, dance and theatre devices such as character and plot; her cinema roles are sensuous. Children like her books, grown-ups like her life philosophy. Madonna is the key figure of pop music of our century. She got many different awards: Academy Award for 'Best Original Song', Grammy, Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy, Fashion Awards, MTV Video Music Awards and many others. But the best and the most valuable reward for her – is great public love.
